FPL KYC Verification for India Managers
KYC verification for Fantasy Premier League accounts in India: PAN card, Aadhaar upload, photo match and how long KYC takes. What to do if your KYC is rejected.
KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is mandatory for all FPL platforms operating in India. The verification process confirms your identity, age (18+), Indian residency and bank account ownership โ and unlocks the withdrawal function. Without KYC, you cannot withdraw any winnings, regardless of how much you have in your account.

What is KYC for FPL platforms

KYC is the identity verification process required by all India-licensed fantasy sports platforms. It's mandatory under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and the IT Act 2000. KYC confirms your full name, age (18+), Indian residency and bank account ownership. Without KYC, you cannot withdraw any winnings โ even if you have โน10 lakh in your FPL account.
The KYC process typically involves 3 steps: (1) document upload (PAN + Aadhaar), (2) selfie verification (some platforms), (3) bank account verification (penny drop test โ platform deposits โน1 to verify the account name matches PAN). The whole process is usually completed within 2 hours on platforms with automated KYC, or up to 72 hours on platforms with manual review.
KYC is a one-time process per platform โ once verified, you don't need to re-verify unless you change your bank account, mobile number or PAN details. Some platforms require re-KYC every 12 months for security.
Documents accepted for KYC

Most FPL platforms accept: PAN card (mandatory), Aadhaar card (front + back), Voter ID, Passport, Driving License. PAN card is mandatory for any withdrawal over โน10,000 because TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) applies.
Aadhaar is preferred for verification speed โ PAN + Aadhaar typically verifies in under 2 hours. Voter ID and Passport are alternatives for managers who don't have Aadhaar (rare but exists for some senior citizens and NRI returnees).
For bank account verification, you'll need: (1) bank account number, (2) IFSC code, (3) account holder name. The platform will do a penny drop (deposit โน1) to verify the account is active and the name matches your PAN.
PAN card upload guide

PAN card upload requirements: clear photo of the front side, no glare or shadows, all 10 characters and your photo legible. File size: 200KB-5MB. Format: JPG, PNG or PDF.
Common rejection reasons: blurry photo, PAN number not matching your account name, PAN expired, name mismatch with bank account. Make sure the PAN you're uploading is the same name as your bank account and Aadhaar.
If your PAN is expired, you cannot deposit or withdraw on most platforms. Renew PAN online via UTI/Protean eGov โ the process takes 15-20 days. Once you have the new PAN, re-submit KYC with the updated document.

Aadhaar upload guide

Aadhaar upload requirements: clear photo of front + back OR the masked Aadhaar (12-digit number with last 4 digits masked). File size: 200KB-5MB. Format: JPG, PNG or PDF.
Common rejection reasons: address mismatch with your current address, Aadhaar photo not matching your account profile photo, Aadhaar not linked to mobile number for OTP verification. If your Aadhaar address is outdated, update it at the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra (free, takes 7-10 days to propagate).
If you change your mobile number, update it on Aadhaar first (visit nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra with proof of new number), then update on PAN via UTI/Protean eGov, then on your bank account, then on the FPL platform profile. The full chain can take 2-4 weeks.
Photo match requirements

Some platforms require a selfie holding your PAN/Aadhaar next to your face. Requirements: face fully visible, document held at chest level, no sunglasses or hat, good lighting. The selfie is matched against the photo on your PAN/Aadhaar by AI โ rejection happens if the face doesn't match within 85% confidence.
Tips for a successful selfie: (1) use natural daylight or a well-lit room, (2) face the camera directly, (3) hold the document flat, not folded or bent, (4) make sure the document text is readable in the same photo, (5) don't smile or make unusual expressions.
If the AI matching fails, some platforms allow a manual review (1-3 days). Provide additional proof (driving license with photo, employee ID with photo) to support the manual review.
KYC processing time

Standard KYC: 2-24 hours. Priority KYC (Dream11, My11Circle): 30 minutes - 2 hours. Manual KYC review: 24-72 hours (only for problematic cases). If your KYC is taking more than 24 hours, contact support with your KYC reference number โ they can manually check the queue.
During festive periods (Diwali, IPL season, December holidays), KYC queues can be longer โ up to 48-72 hours for priority KYC. Plan your contest entries accordingly: complete KYC at least 3 days before the contest deadline.
If your KYC is urgent (e.g. you've just won a contest and need to withdraw), most platforms offer express KYC for a small fee (โน50-โน100). The express KYC completes within 30 minutes during business hours.

Why KYC was rejected

Most common rejection reasons: (1) name mismatch between PAN and bank account (fix: update bank account name to match PAN exactly), (2) expired PAN (fix: renew PAN and re-submit), (3) Aadhaar photo mismatch (fix: take a clearer selfie), (4) address mismatch (fix: update Aadhaar address or use Voter ID), (5) blurred document photo (fix: re-take photo in good lighting).
Less common reasons: (6) Aadhaar not linked to mobile number (fix: visit Aadhaar Seva Kendra to link), (7) PAN linked to another FPL account (fix: contact support to unlink), (8) bank account inactive (fix: reactivate the account by making any deposit/withdrawal at the bank branch).
For each rejection, the platform sends an email with the specific reason. Read the email carefully โ fixing the exact reason mentioned is the fastest path to re-submission. If you're unsure about the reason, contact platform support with your KYC reference number.
Re-submission after rejection

After fixing the rejection reason, re-submit KYC through the same platform. The re-submission goes through the same verification queue, typically completed within 24 hours. There's no penalty for re-submission.
After successful KYC, you can withdraw any amount from โน100 to โน10 lakh per day without further verification. Some platforms require re-KYC every 12 months or when you change your bank account โ keep your PAN and Aadhaar details updated in the platform profile to avoid withdrawal holds.
If you've been rejected 3+ times, escalate to platform support with a written complaint. Persistent KYC rejection without clear reason could indicate a system issue on the platform's side, and support can manually verify your documents.
