What is the India FPL leaderboard

The FPL India leaderboard ranks the top 100 India-based Fantasy Premier League managers by overall rank (OR) in the 2026/27 season. The leaderboard is updated every Monday morning after the GW deadline. India managers are identified by their IP at signup or by their bank account country code.

The India FPL leaderboard is unofficial — it's compiled by FPL11 from publicly available FPL data (manager names, team IDs, country flags). The leaderboard includes any India-based manager who has set their FPL team to public. Privacy-conscious managers who set their team to private are not included.

The leaderboard is updated every Monday at 10 AM IST. The data source is the official FPL API plus our manual verification of India manager country codes. The leaderboard shows rank, manager name, current OR, points and trend (rising/falling).

How the leaderboard is calculated

Rankings are based on the official FPL overall rank (OR). Lower OR = higher leaderboard position. The top India FPL manager in 2026/27 is currently ranked OR 412 with 1,847 points after GW 32. The top 10 India managers average 1,720 points; the top 100 average 1,580 points.

The leaderboard uses the official FPL overall rank as the primary sort key. Tie-breaker: total points scored. If two managers have the same OR, the one with more total points ranks higher. The leaderboard resets at the start of each season (August 2026 for the 2026/27 season).

Most top 10 India managers are 25-40 year old tech professionals or finance workers who have time to follow every PL match and adjust their squads weekly. The top 10 India managers are invited to the FPL11 India Premier tier league — the most exclusive India FPL community with 1,000 members. To join, you need OR top 100,000 in the previous season or be nominated by an existing member.

Strategies of top 1000 OR

The top 1000 India FPL managers all use similar core strategies: (1) Salah + Haaland as locked premiums, (2) active captain rotation in double gameweeks, (3) chips played in DGW 33+ for maximum gain, (4) -4 hits avoided except for injury cover, (5) ownership-weighted differentials below 5% for rank climbing. The exact execution differs but the framework is the same.

Beyond the framework, the top 1000 differ in three ways: (1) captain selection — some prefer Salah always, others rotate based on fixture, (2) chip timing — some play wildcard early (GW 8-10), others late (GW 25-28), (3) wildcard template — some use 3-4-3, others 3-5-2, some 4-4-2.

The single biggest differentiator between top 1000 and top 10,000 managers is the willingness to take -4 hits for the right transfer. Top 1000 managers average 3-5 -4 hits per season; top 10,000 average 1-2; top 100,000 average 0.5.

Mini-league vs overall rank

Mini-leagues are won by aggressive captain rotation (captain differentials even if they blank), while overall rank requires conservative captain rotation (always captain the highest projected player). If you're chasing the India leaderboard, focus on overall rank; if you're chasing a specific mini-league rival, focus on outscoring them by 5+ points in the next 3-4 gameweeks.

Most India managers care about both. The smart approach: play conservative captaincy for OR climbing (always captain the highest projected), but take 1-2 differential captain risks per month to leapfrog specific mini-league rivals. The two strategies don't conflict if you time the differential captain picks carefully.

If you're 50+ points behind a mini-league rival, you need to outscore them by 8+ points per gameweek for 4-6 weeks. That requires either (a) a captain differential that hits (12+ points vs their 4-6), or (b) their captain blanks multiple times. Don't try to chase with -4 hits — they're too expensive in the long run.

How to climb the leaderboard

To climb the FPL India leaderboard from OR 100,000 to OR 10,000 in one season, you need to: (1) play your wildcard in GW 8-10 to optimise team value early, (2) hit 60+ points in 8-10 gameweeks via smart captain picks, (3) play bench boost in DGW 33 for 80+ bench points, (4) avoid -4 hits unless the gain is 6+ points. Beyond the tactical framework, the top rank climbers have three habits: (1) they check FPL every day during the season (5 min/day is enough), (2) they watch 2-3 PL matches per week (the captain's team especially), (3) they plan transfers 2-3 gameweeks ahead using the fixture difficulty rating (FDR) tool.

The biggest mistake India managers make when trying to climb the leaderboard: panicking after 2-3 bad gameweeks and making 4-5 transfers in one go. This tanks team value and wastes the free transfer. If you have a bad run, stick with your squad and trust the process — the season is long.

Leaderboard privacy

The FPL India leaderboard is compiled from publicly available FPL data. If you don't want to appear on the leaderboard, set your FPL team to private (fantasy.premierleague.com → My Team → Privacy → Private). Private teams are not included in the leaderboard.

Privacy-conscious managers can still use FPL11 services (captain picks, price change tracker, etc.) without appearing on the leaderboard. The leaderboard is purely a public recognition feature, not a ranking that affects your FPL scoring or chip usage.

If your leaderboard rank looks wrong (e.g. you should be top 100 but aren't listed), your FPL team might be set to private. Go to fantasy.premierleague.com → My Team → Privacy → Change to Public. The leaderboard will pick you up within 24 hours.
