If you already own 3+ of the dream team XI, you don't need many transfers for GW 33. Focus on filling positional gaps or upgrading weak links (e.g. a budget forward who blanked). Don't churn your squad every week chasing dream team players — the variance doesn't help in cumulative scoring.

Lesson 1: Budget defenders (Mitchell at 4.5M, Trippier at 5.5M) can outscore premium defenders in the right fixture. Mitchell's 8 pts vs Saliba's 9 pts is a small gap, but Mitchell costs 6M less — that's 6M you can spend elsewhere.

Lesson 2: Premium strikers don't always dominate. Watkins (7.5M) and Solanke (7.5M) both scored 13 pts, matching Haaland's 14 pts for half the price. In a single gameweek, the budget strikers can deliver premium-level returns.

Lesson 3: BPS winner bonuses matter. Mbeumo's 15 pts vs Saka's 14 pts — both scored a goal, but Mbeumo won the BPS bonus (+3), giving him the edge. Watch for in-match BPS to identify players likely to win BPS.

GW 33 captain strategy

After GW 32, the captain choice for GW 33 becomes clearer. The top 3 captains are: (1) Salah (home vs BRE, projected 14 pts, 52% ownership), (2) Palmer (home vs WOL, projected 13 pts, 11% ownership), (3) Saka (away vs BHA, projected 11 pts, 34% ownership).

Salah is the safest pick — high ownership means you don't fall behind, decent projected points. Palmer is the differential pick — lower ownership but similar projected points. Saka is the mid-risk pick — high ownership, lower projected ceiling.

For India managers chasing rank, Palmer is the better pick (differential). For India managers maintaining rank, Salah is safer. For India managers playing H2H and needing a big swing, Saka is mid-range (high ownership, lower ceiling = consistent 8-12 pts without the 12+ differential upside).

Players to sell before GW 33

Sell candidates: (1) any premium midfielder blanking 3+ gameweeks (e.g. Fernandes if he blanks again), (2) budget forwards with poor GW 33 fixtures (e.g. Wood if he's facing Arsenal), (3) defenders with tough GW 33 fixtures (e.g. a Liverpool defender facing Man City).

Don't sell just to sell. If your squad is performing well (60+ pts last 2 GWs), keep it. The transfer market is thin at this stage of the season — most premium players are already owned by 40%+ of managers, so you can't differentiate by selling.

If you have a free transfer and want to use it, target players with great GW 33 fixtures and rising ownership (potential price rise). This adds value to your squad and improves your GW 33 score.

GW 33 fixture difficulty ratings

The hardest fixtures in GW 33 (FDR 5): MCI vs SHU (SHU away, hard for SHU), ARS vs BHA (BHA away, hard for BHA), CHE vs WOL (WOL away, hard for WOL). The easiest fixtures (FDR 1-2): LIV vs BRE (easy for LIV), AVL vs BUR (easy for AVL), NEW vs TOT (TOT away, hard for TOT).

For captain picks, focus on home premium teams with FDR 1-2: Liverpool (Salah), Aston Villa (Watkins), Brighton (Mitoma). For differential picks, consider away teams with FDR 4-5 — they're under-owned and offer upside.

How to use dream team data strategically

Beyond just looking at who made the dream team, use the data to identify trends: (1) which positions are scoring highest (midfield in 2026/27 — premiums dominate), (2) which teams have the most dream team players (Man City + Arsenal in most weeks), (3) which price ranges are dominating (8-10M midfielders scoring 10+ points per GW).

Strategic application: if you see a budget midfielder (e.g. Mbeumo at 6.5M) consistently making the dream team, he's a high-value transfer target. Add him before his price rises. If you see a premium consistently underperforming vs his price, consider selling.
